Hello, I'm Desiree.
I'm an artist working from the private addition on the back of the property. We bought this house in 2006 and lived here until 2023 when we moved just a few blocks away. I use the back and basement as my ceramics studio, and the front is a garden with vegetables and flowers. I've worked hard to make the space comfortable and special with touches collected from decades of making and finding interesting decor.

I make hand built ceramic pieces, both functional and sculptural, and sell them in several places around town, including the gift shops at the Nelson-Atkins, the Kemper, The Museum of Kansas City, and the Albrecht-Kemper in St. Joseph. Other stores include West Bottoms Plant Co., KC Clay Guild, Belger Craneyard Art Center, and Bluestem in Columbia, Mo.
