Hello, I'm Jennifer R MA, MFT.
A little bit about myself: I moved to Hawaii for college and never really left. My husband is a big-wave surfer, which is what led us to buy a home on the North Shore. He recently retired from the Coast Guard and now splits his time between Puerto Rico and Hawaii. I work for the Department of Veterans Affairs on the other side of the island, so my workdays are often quite long—sometimes 14 to 16 hours. Because of that, my dog spends a lot of time at home by herself. One thing I’m hoping for is to find someone who enjoys dogs and wouldn’t mind spending some time with her while they’re staying here. She’s an important part of our family and loves having company.

Professionally, I am a licensed marriage and family therapist. I provide counseling for veterans experiencing PTSD through the Department of Veterans Affairs, and I also maintain a private practice where I work with first responders who may be dealing with trauma and other stress-related challenges. My private practice is home-based, so I occasionally work from the house when I’m not at the VA.
